Useful Information
Kindly find below what you should know if you have booked your car hire in Cyprus and you are ready to drive:
Traffic Side
Traffic moves on the LEFT hand-side of the road, NOT on the right. Cyprus follows the British driving System, so the drive wheel is located on the right hand side of the car instead of the left hand side that is the system that Europe follows.
Roads
Roads are well English signed and are of a good quality especially the new major highways. Dirt tracks are usually passable, although care is always needed and progress will be much slower than on tarred roads. Some roads in the villages can be poor and it is easy for the unwary to become lost.
Parking
Drivers should note the cars become hot if they are parked in the sun and where possible should be parked in the shade. There are public and private parking areas in all Cyprus towns with a fee per hour or per day.
Security
Cameras, wallets and other personal things should not be left visible in parked car. Always lock your car when you have parked.
